BERKSHIRE CRESCENT PARK

Public BBQ

Berkshire Crescent Park in Wishart presents itself as one of those charmingly honest suburban spaces that doesn't pretend to be more than it is. The modest playground caters to older children with equipment that might leave toddlers scratching their heads, while parents appreciate the thoughtful covered shelter housing two barbecues and seating. The park's crown jewel - a sizeable 1,093 square metre dog off-leash area - comes complete with water bowls, taps, and the essential poo bins that mark civilised canine society. Mature trees provide generous shade across the grounds, creating pockets of respite from Queensland's enthusiasm for sunshine. The absence of public toilets seems to be the park's most consistent talking point among visitors, a oversight that has persisted with admirable stubbornness for years.
